New dig!
Glass Systems construction project for its new manufacturing site at Port Talbot has begun!
Ground was broken on the 30-acre site with the goal of it being operational during the summer of 2024.
Khaled Elleboudy, Managing Director with the project team visited site and was presented with an inscribed silver shovel to mark the occasion from Gareth Owen, Project Manager from Cumming Group.
Now that the groundwork is under way, we are looking forward to watching the build of the new facility begin.

The huge piling rigs (machines) have arrived on site and have started driving pre-cast concrete piles. This piece of heavy construction equipment is used to drive piles into the ground to provide support for the foundation of the building. This form of foundation is required due to the poor ground conditions on the moor. Noise and vibration mitigation measures are in place and are constantly being monitored.
