LOW EMISSION GLASS

LOW EMISSIVITY

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

With the increased focus on using our planets natural resources it is important energy efficient glass is used to prevent heat escaping out through your windows to the cold outdoors.

Thanks to our partnership with our suppliers, we are able to offer our brand of low emissivity glass Ecopane and Ecopane Plus.

By installing low emissivity glass, you can significantly improve your Window Energy Ratings and reduce the amount of energy lost through your windows by up to 75% ! Considering these figures, along with the increased need for us all to make the most of a natural resources to reduce our carbon foot print, it is easy to see why more and more people are opting for higher WER band windows. These WER band windows make significant savings on heating costs by incorporating low emissivity glass into their existing window frames.

LOW EMISSION GLASS

ECOPANE

Glass

Ecopane and Ecopane Plus is Press Glass market offer for soft coat low emissivity glass.

The use of hard coat low emissivity glass has become less and less over time, largely due to legislation changes as ‘U’ values are typically higher and the glass is not energy efficient.

This has created a path for the next generation of soft coat low emissivity glass Ecopane and Ecopane Plus.

Our soft coat products deliver superior thermal performance and are far more neutral in appearance than the previous hard coat low emissivity products.

THREE times more thermal insulation

than standard double glazing

The most popular window units are double-glazed. Our double-glazed sealed units incorporating Ecopane and argon gas offer enhanced thermal insulation compared to standard double-glazing. They also meet the requirements of the latest building regulations, whether it be by WER or by Overall Window U value for compliance.

Sealed units incorporating Ecopane with argon gas are some of the best performing sealed units on the market. In a double-glazed unit, a centre pane U value of 1.20 W/m2K can be achieved.

To further enhance thermal efficiency, a triple-glazed unit which maximises thermal performance using two panes of Ecopane in the construction achieving 0.60 W/m2K.

Our Ecopane Plus glass uses a higher specification of low emissivity soft coat glass. A centre pane U value of 1.0 W/m2K in a double-glazed unit and in triple glazing a 0.50 W/m2K can be achieved.

Optimal temperature in rooms

The level and distribution of air temperature can have a significant impact on your comfort indoors. Sometimes you can feel a dramatic drop in temperature, especially near a window during the winter. Thanks to thermally insulated glass units which can amount to up to 70% of the window surface, it is possible to eliminate this issue making the change in the range of temperatures insignificant. A different problem can arise in the summer when the sun rays can potentially overheat the inside of a building. This problem can be addressed by incorporating solar control glass into the construction, which can reduce overheating while maintaining a high level of light transmission. Thermally insulated glass delivers high heat retention performance during the winter to limit the amount of heat that escapes from the building, whilst maximising natural heat gain. This not only enables you manage your energy usage, by reducing your energy consumption, but also reduce your CO2 emissions.

REDUCING THE COSTS OF HEATING

All properties and buildings will lose some heat through their windows, walls and roof, but you can take measures to make sure your home loses as little heat as possible. Using thermally efficient glass in windows will help to reduce energy costs and make a contribution to the environment. The amount of heat that is escaping through the window will be reduced enabling you to turn down the heating a degree or two or even have the heating on for shorter periods of time.
