QUESTIONS

  1. Tell us about your career and job roles?

Andrew – I began my career as a Shift Manager at Cestrum Conservatories, where I oversaw all aspects of the manufacture of conservatories for 10 years.

I then moved to AG Pilkington Glass, where I started as a Production Operator on the IGU lines. Through hard work and dedication, I progressed to the role of Shift Manager, where I took on greater responsibilities and leadership.

I then joined Euramax as the Shift Supervisor in the Welding Department, further expanding my skill set in a different area of production. Afterward, I returned to Barnsley as a Shift Manager, and I currently serve as the Production Support Manager at Press Glass Barnsley, a role that allows me to apply my experience in production management and support.

  1. What changes have you seen over the last few years?

Andrew – Over the years, I’ve seen significant changes, particularly with the introduction of new types of glass in the market. A notable development at the Barnsley facility was the installation of robots on the IGU lines, which has greatly impacted our production processes.

  1. What do you do outside of work?

Andrew – Outside of work, I enjoy watching ice hockey. My family and I are regular supporters of the Sheffield Steelers, attending games whenever we can. Additionally, I enjoy socializing with friends at my local pub, where I participate in a weekly quiz.
