Dominic Marshman – Regional Transport Manager

Dominic Marshman has worked at Glass Systems for just over 6 years as Regional Transport Manager. He originally started as an HGV driver at Glass Systems Direct at Pontyclun 10 years ago! Dominic then moved to a new opportunity where he gained more experience within logistics. When Glass Systems expanded to the current six depots nationwide, Dominic was the natural choice to help manage the three depots in the South Wales area and he rejoined us.

GLASS TIMES – What changes have you seen at Glass Systems in recent years?
DOMINIC –  I have seen a huge number of changes taking place at Glass Systems over the years, where we have gone from strength to strength with continuous improvements year on year! We have upgraded our vehicles to a top of the range fleet whilst behind the scenes utilized several new technologies and introducing new software.

GLASS TIMES –  What is your biggest achievement since working at Glass Systems?
DOMINIC – Back in March 2023, I worked on the introduction of a new Drivers App for our daily deliveries, vehicle checks, customer ETA’s and tachograph analysis to help make our transport department more efficient, accurate and paperless. This has been very successful for the company and our customers who have ‘real time’ information on their delivery times. More recently we have designed a new Driver’s handbook which sets out all the rules and regulations within the transport department and demonstrates how our Drivers are at the highest level of the professional standards.
GLASS TIMES  –  Where do we deliver to?
DOMINIC – We offer a nationwide delivery service and have recently started delivering monthly to Southern Ireland. Our fleet has over 100 vehicles, from vans to 44-ton articulated trucks! The locations of our six depots gives us an effective response time and delivery service to our customers.
GLASS TIMES –  What is it like working at Glass Systems?
We have an excellent team of Transport Managers who all ensure an excellent delivery service and most importantly a happy customer which helps me in my role. Last February Glass Systems supported me in achieving my Transport Managers CPC which I have found invaluable in my role. The company is very supportive and encourages employees in their personal development by gaining further experience through external training or providing training on the job which can be just as effective.
GLASS TIMES –  What about outside of work?
In December last year I got married on a beach in Mexico which was without doubt the best experience of my life! I enjoy socializing with friends and a quiet whisky from time to time!
