REDUCE, REUSE, RECYLE!
SCOTLAND IS REDUCING WASTE FOR A BETTER FUTURE!
Stephen Davie at our site in Scotland is on a mission to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible!
At the moment they are recycling all cardboard that is generated throughout the factory, from spacer/Georgian bar boxes, desiccant boxes, tape boxes and glass packing! Anything cardboard goes into their baler. They are also baling their clear and blue polythene wrap.
Stephen found the ‘baler’ on site in Scotland gathering dust, the engineers got it up and running and they have not looked back since!
Stephen is working with Highlander, a company based in East Kilbride, they provide wastepaper, cardboard, and wood recycling assistance across Scotland! They are committed to helping businesses modernize their recycling processes which in return helps eliminate landfill but also turn our waste materials into revenue!

“When I started this project my main objective was to look at ways to reduce our carbon footprint in Scotland, and I am still in the infancy stage, there is so much I plan to achieve. By using the baler, I have already cancelled our cardboard skip and as we are recycling all cardboard and polythene, we are managing the remaining skips on site more efficiently and we are putting less and less materials into our general waste skip! We also have fewer lorries coming into our yard to collect skips and this also has a positive impact on our carbon footprint as well as us sending less waste to landfill.”
